Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Chirp ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

License

Chirp is licensed, not sold. Upon purchase, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on the number of devices specified by your license tier:

  • Single: 1 Mac
  • Double: 2 Macs
  • Triple: 3 Macs

This license is for personal or internal business use only. You may not redistribute, resell, or sublicense the App.

Free Trial

Chirp offers a 7-day free trial with all features unlocked. After the trial period, a Chirp license is required to continue using the App. No payment information is required for the trial.

Payment and Refunds

The Chirp license is a one-time purchase for unlimited dictation. Meeting Mode is an optional monthly subscription ($10/mo). All payments are processed securely through Polar, our merchant of record.

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with Chirp for any reason, contact us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

System Requirements

Chirp requires:

  • Apple Silicon Mac (M1, M2, M3, or M4)
  • macOS 14.2 (Sonoma) or later

Intel-based Macs are not supported. Please verify your system meets these requirements before purchasing.

Permitted Use

You may use Chirp for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
  • Use the App to violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Record conversations without proper consent where required by law

Recording Consent

You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws regarding recording consent. Many jurisdictions require consent from all parties before recording conversations. We recommend informing all participants when using Meeting Mode to record calls or meetings.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that transcription results will be 100% accurate.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the license.

Updates

Your license includes lifetime updates to Chirp at no additional cost. We may release updates that add features, fix bugs, or improve performance. Updates are optional but recommended.

Termination

Your license remains valid indefinitely unless terminated. We may terminate your license if you violate these terms. Upon termination, you must cease using the App and delete all copies.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App or our website.
